June 23 was the first wedding of the season for the Siebert's! We traveled to Minnesota with Grandpa Bahler and Aunt Jenn. What a car ride that was. I wasn't feeling very well-I have a sore throat and runny nose. Always nice. So I just wanted to sleep, but Leah needed her friends in the back to occupy her. We actually got the DVD player working so Leah watched Finding Nemo and fell asleep about an hour into the trip. Then she slept for an hour and we made our first stop 2 hours into the ride at La Crosse. Not too bad for Leah!
Then we got to the hotel where we were greeted with Gift bags from the bride and groom! Leah dug right in ate all the caramel corn-Love her! Grandpa Curt then gave Leah some new floaties to use in the pool. They were the kind that actually hold her above the water so she could swim by herself. She loved them!!!! She was so brave swimming with Jenn while Ryan and I walked the 3 blocks to the church for the rehearsal.
We got to spend some time with Uncle Jim, Aunt Cindy and Aunt Sarah that weekend too! They came and had dinner with Jenn, Dad and Leah, then when Ryan and I got back I went to bed with Leah while everybody else got their drinks on at a local bar.
Wedding day was so much fun! We got hair done early, ate lunch while getting dressed and then headed to the church. At the church we ladies maybe had a little too much fun getting Amy dressed, playing with the yellow phone and empty picture frames, and even playing a little "Catholic Poker". Yes. I made the name up myself.
Then it was show time! Amy looked beautiful! It was a beautiful ceremony, and quick:) Everybody appreciates a quick wedding:) Then came one of the best parts-pictures! We got nice party bus to drive us around while we took pictures. We enjoyed some champagne, a few Wamy's (champagne with limeritas mixed in) and lot's of laughs. I can't wait to see the pictures the photographers got-we were such an energized group of people:)
We also made a pit stop at a bar where the bartender made us about 30 shots and he tinted them blue for the wedding colors-LOVED! We went back to begin the reception where the food, music and people were all amazing. It was pretty neat for me as many of the people Amy invited from Monroe were all people I hadn't seen in years either. It was great!
Leah had been a good girl all day, and she wanted to be Mommy's buddy at the wedding. She even ate my cake...and her's. :) And she only wanted to dance with Mommy or Aunt Jenn. She did very well though and made it all the way to 11 before she crashed. In all fairness, I crashed and took her with me. She could've gone longer, I'm sure.
The next day we headed over to Jim and Cindy's house for a bit before the long trip back to Madison. Cindy kept Leah VERY entertained showing her Sarah's messy room, the piano, and all the shoes around the house. Leah really had a great time! She loves her Aunt Cindy :)
On the trip back home, Leah did fall asleep, but I drank too much water and had to stop to use the bathroom less than an hour into the trip. This caused Leah to wake up and she didn't sleep at all the rest of the trip. Oh well. She was just fine!
Overall, it was a very successful first wedding/long trip. Congrats Amy and Wade-you threw an amazing party!
Up next is a past roommates wedding this weekend, and Ry has a bachelor party in the Dells.
Amy
