Leah's Pictures with Bunnies

Yesterday Leah had her picture taken with bunnies for Easter. We had been looking for a place here in Madison that would do them and we got an e-mail from a studio we had used when Leah was 9 months saying that they were taking pictures with bunnies! I called right away and Leah was so excited!

As any parent knows, you never know how you kid will act when the photographer says "Smile!" and I've always struggled to get Leah to actually look at a camera and smile. I have very few pictures of Leah looking at the camera, eyes open and smiling. So when it came time for Leah to smile I was a little worried that it wouldn't happen. I clearly had nothing to worry about :)

The lady was amazing! She brought out the bunny and Leah just loved him! She was so gently-which was shocking because Leah couldn't be more rough with out dog! But she was great and the bunny was pretty happy too until it was time for his dinner.

The photographer got out an Elmo doll-obviously Leah favorite thing EVER, but then she also started to blow bubbles. Bubbles are Leah's second favorite thing in the world. She would blow a bubble then either have Leah pop it or she would take it to ELmo where he would "eat" it. Leah absolutly loved it! We got so many smiles and cute faces! She was such a ham! Then we decided to do a few standing pictures to which Leah yelled that she wanted to do the pottty dance to. So Jenn and I began to sing the Potty Song and Leah danced and twirrled. Again, adorable:)

The one thing I really love about this studio is that they do really great work, the fees are low and the proofs are ready in under 2 hours. So we went out to eat and then came back to the studio and picked up all of the shots. To which the sales said that the photographer found some shots she really liked and would like to hang them in the studio, put on their website or use for ads. Awesome:) Always knew I had a photogenic kid:)

So we got a few great shots, Leah was happy to have pictures with bunnies and family will get a few cute pics of Leah too. All in all, great day :)

Valentine's Project:)

Each year/holiday I try to come up with something cute to give my parents from their kids. This idea actually came while I was just having the girls color with markers. I love to have them use different surfaces to color on, especially coffee filters and paper towels because the colors run together when they get wet. So I had this idea and ran with it :)

This one was really fun to make and super easy!

All I did was take a coffee filter and let the girls use markers to make it look pretty. I like to use the scented markers just for an added sensory experience.

Now, you will need water. I didn't have a spray bottle handy but that would work probably better than using your hands:) Spray or use your hands to splash water on the coffee filter so that it's damp and then hold it up so the colors begin to run.

Then, set the coffee filter on a piece of paper towel to dry. After it's dry, cut the filter into a heart and then glue it to colorful piece of paper. I asked the girls what they loved, and since they are 2 and 18 months my answers were hilarious :)

I then framed these up and gave them to the parents as a Valentine's gift from the kids. Super cute, and super easy :)
